BLA commander among 6 killed in Balochistan

QUETTA: Violence continued in Balochistan as six people, including a Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) commander, were killed in different incidents on Friday. The Frontier Corps (FC) killed BLA commander Rashid Shahwani and his companion Shahjahan during a targeted operation against militants in Mastung. According to a statement issued by FC, Rashid Shahwani was involved in various incidents of target killings. FC personnel also recovered a large number of weapons and explosive material during the operation. Four persons, including a child, were also shot dead in Mastung and Kharan. Unidentified people shot dead the director of a private school, Ikram Mengal, along with his son as they came out of their house in Kharan. FC and police also apprehended 10 suspects during a search operation in Sariab area of Quetta. Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi, meanwhile, said that a targeted operation has been initiated in parts of the province to maintain peace and bring the culprits to the book. End.
