BHC rejects Bhootani's plea against removal

01 January, 2013

QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Monday rejected a petition filed by former speaker of the Balochistan Assembly, Aslam Bhootani, challenging his removal.

The BHC division bench, comprising Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail and Justice Noor Muskanzai, heard the petition. Advocate General Amanullah Kanrani, former Punjab governor Sardar Latif Khosa, Advocate Kamran and Advocate Atta Muhammad represented the government of Balochistan in the court, while Baz Muhammad Kakar and Hadi Shakeel appeared as council for Aslam Bhootani.

The bench rejected Aslam Bhootani's petition and gave a short verdict, which read: "The way followed by assembly members during no-confidence motion against speaker was legal and constitutional which is why his petition has rejected by the court."

End.
