I want to draw the attention of the authorities towards an issue regarding the car parking fees at every stop one makes when in the market place. Even if you stop the car for a minute or two in a parking spot, you are immediately charged Rs 30. Parking fees have been exempted in many places by the government of Punjab but still they are being charged everywhere. You cannot say anything in this regard as the person in charge at the parking lot just shoves a ticket in your face saying that the fee is written on the ticket and that one has to pay it at any cost. This is akin to bullying anyone who goes to the market; at the end of the shopping trip you have paid for this nuisance rather than spending it somewhere else. This issue needs to seriously be looked at as the people who have taken these parking lots on thaika (contract) are making it a serious business, increasing the parking cost on almost every new trip to the market.
