Asma Jahangir's mother passes away

LAHORE: Sabiha Jilani – the mother of former Supreme Court Bar Association president, Asma Jahangir, and human rights activist Hina Jilani – passed away on Sunday. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf expressed grief and sorrow over Sabiha Jilani's demise. In his condolence message to Asma and Hina, the president said the death of one's mother was a great personal loss. "My thoughts and prayers are with you and the bereaved family," he said. The PM expressed his heartfelt condolences and sympathies with members of the bereaved family. He prayed to God to shower countless blessings upon the departed soul and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this loss with equanimity. PML-N President Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif also expressed grief and sorrow over Sabiha's demise in their separate condolence massages to Asma Jahangir and Hina Jilani. End.
