Asad Umar meeting targeted

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s (PTI) corner meeting,On Friday night in Adnan Market of Sector G-11, was being targeted by some unknowns, no casualties or injuries were reported.
According to the police, the incident happened when Asad Umar, who is contesting the upcoming polls from the NA-54 constituency, was addressing the corner meeting, whereas, the party workers and candidates remained safe.
The PTI’s vice president for Islamabad, Farid-ur-Rehman, also confirmed that Asad Umar and other party members were safe. However, he stated that this kind of violent behavior won’t be tolerated.
After the incident, a large number or PTI workers went to the police station for the registration of First Information Report (FIR). The members resorted to chanting slogans as well.
The superintendent of police (SP) for Saddar Zone informed that the site of the incident has been restricted for the general public and the investigation has begun.
