Appalling education... By Farah

It is universally believed that education is the only source through which a nation can develop but Balochistan, being the largest and least populated province of the country, has the lowest literacy rate in Pakistan. Sadly, the province has just 10,381 educational institutions of which most boast improper buildings without electricity, potable water and lack of modern equipment. However, the most serious problem is that the so-called educational departments have a small number of teachers, among which most are incapable of teaching, and a large number never bother to enter the four walls of their schools. Due to lack of educational facilities a great amount of the population remains uneducated. Neither the provincial nor the federal government have ever taken interest in the development of Balochistan. It is time that both paid attention to Balochistan's education and provided the people with the basic needs of education since Balochistan is the largest and most resource-rich province of the country. It deserves to have the best education system just like other provinces in Pakistan. FARAH ASLAM
