Amendments in AJK interim constitution after consensus: Wattoo

ISLAMABAD: Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Minister Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo has said that the amendments in Interim 1974 Constitutional Act of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) will be made after taking all political parties on board. He was addressing a press conference after chairing a meeting of AJK All Parties Conference (APC) held on Thursday. The conference was attended by heads of all parties of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to discuss the matter of amendments. Wattoo told the media that the meeting decided to gather all recommendations and dispatched them to already formed parliamentary committee having representation of all parties. He said the committee would submit its report within two months to leadership in Pakistan, which would take the final decision on amendments. AJK President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob, Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, former presidents Sardar Muhammad Anwar Khan and Raja Zulqarnain, former prime ministers Sardar Attique Ahmad, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhary and Raja Farooq Haider, senior minister Yaseen, AJK JI chief Abdul Rasheed Turabi, former AJK Assembly Speaker Shah Ghulam Qadir and leaders of different parties attended the meeting.
