Altaf's Apology... By Col.(r) Riaz

08 January, 2013

The apex court has accepted the apology of the contemnor Altaf Hussain. The apology was unconditional and the MQM Chief had placed himself entirely at the mercy of the court. He has also taken his contemptuous words back, synonymous for which in Urdu is "Thook kar chatna".

Though it was extremely magnanimous and gracious of the SCP to let him off but would it not have been appropriate to make him tender the apology publicly and recite orally all that he has submitted in writing to the court in front of a mammoth rally in Karachi similar to one in which he had committed the offence in the first place. His contemptuous and seething rants and utterings were heard by the millions in the arena and on almost all TV channels in the country, but how many would now know of the exact tenor and tone of his apology?!

It has become a sort of customary to insult the judiciary and get away with a simple apology. The court can always demonstrate its large heartedness and forgive, but rendering of a public apology in front of the same crowd and under the similar circumstances in which the contempt was committed will act as an exemplary deterrent for all would be delinquent contemnors.

"Thook kar chatna".

He is the DON of a mafia who has taken the karachites as hostage. This guy is solely responsible for at least few thousands of Karachite but he has a backing of foreign countries, specially UK from where he operates his gang. Shame on these so called democratic countries who would support an evil person like Mr Hussain instead of deporting him back to pakistan. Moreover he has been postively linked with the murder of Imran Farooq who was one of his senior leaders in London. SHAME on the british foreign office and the spineless leaders like Mr Sharif who can not stand against this mafia chief.

Altaf"s apology

What a filthy, mean and dirty remarks by a so-called chauvinist punjabi with a black stinking heart. These were the people who hand been taunting and ridiculing Bengalis and now are committing atrocities against the Baluchs. Hundreds of people have submitted unconditional apologies and the same had been accepted magnanimously by the courts as their aim is neither to harm nor to ridicule. By saying "thook kar chatna" this stupid fellow is actually encouraging the people that they should not tender apology before the court. This is a contempt of court and the Chief justice of Pakistan should take notice of this. And what about your friend His Highness Faisal Reza Abidi?

You are not talking sense unfortunately.
