KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) Core Committee has announced that party chief Altaf Hussain will neither contact any leader nor attend any meeting of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) unless both the parties reach any conclusion to address unresolved matters.

The meeting of the Core Committee of the MQM Coordination Committee continued till late Friday night.

The meeting was informed that President Asif Ali Zardari and Altaf Hussain had deliberated over all controversial issues and continued their efforts to resolve them. It was further told that Interior Minister Rehman Malik gad played a positive role in the talks, which took place during the five years.

The meeting was also informed that certain elements had adopted negative and provocative posture to undermine the MQM-PPP alliance. Finally, the meeting decided that Altaf Hussain would not forge any formal contact with any leader or committee of the PPP until both sides reached any conclusion to sort out "unresolved matters of public interest".

End.
