Accusation against Arsalan aimed to defame SC: Lawyer

ISLAMABAD: Sardar Ishaq, lawyer of Dr. Arsalan Iftikhar, son of Chief Justice accused in corruption case, Wednesday said that every single charge against his client would be defended and we can sue the responsible on defamatory charges.
Talking to media persons outside SC building, Advocate Sardar Ishaq said there was no record that Arsalan Iftikhar has taken Rs.30 or 40 million from anybody.
He said the apex court asked "Bahria Town" to provide any record if it exists.
Sardar Ishaq said if there was any proof against his client than it should be presented before the court.
He said even journalist Hamid Mir had told the court that this was a deep conspiracy and together we would expose this conspiracy to defame the Supreme Court
Later in brief interaction with media, Arsalan Iftikhar said that if he found guilty, he would accept any verdict of the Supreme Court.
He said accusation against him were totally baseless.
To a question why his father himself was hearing the case against him, Dr. Arsalan said "No comments".
Earlier, a three-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday heard the suo motu notice of graft case involving son of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and adjourned hearing till today (Thursday).
