Abid Sher accuses PTI of electricity theft in KP

PESHAWAR: Water and power state minister Abid Sher Ali Wednesday came down hard against Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf alleging ministers of rival party for involvement in electricity theft.
Addressing to press conference here, Abid Sher Ali alleged that PTI lawmakers and ministers are involved in electricity theft in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He stressed Imran Khan to play his role to stop electricity theft in the province adding that line losses in some areas of KPK are more than 90 percent.
The minister said Bannu is still not being included in the system where people in supervision of PTI lawmakers and ministers do bother to pay their electricity bills.
He said new strict laws are being introduced in the country to trim down electricity theft accordance to which on commercial theft accused could be sentenced three years in prison and fined Rs. 10 million while tempering with domestic meter would be fined Rs. 2.5 million and two years in prison.
The minister said if PTI pay all line losses they will be allowed to practice their favorite hobby of protests and stage sit-in even at Qutab Minar in Delhi.
Abid Sher Ali said connections of those customers who do not pay their bill would be disconnected added that areas with huge line losses would face 20 hours power load shedding.
