ANF recovers 1,110kg of hydrochloric acid

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force conducted five different operations and recovered 1,110 kilograms of hydrochloric acid (HCL), 113 kilograms of charas/garda, four kilograms of opium and 2.4 kilograms of heroin in different parts of the country, said a press release issued here on Tuesday.
According to details, ANF in Karachi recovered 21 packets of garda and 92 packets of charas from a Hino truck at the Hub River Road. One person was arrested. In another operation, the ANF recovered four kilograms of opium at Karachi Airport. The opium was concealed in the baggage of a passenger. He was traveling from Karachi to Doha. The passenger has been arrested. An alleged accomplice of his was arrested in the airport car parking.
In a separate operation, the ANF Karachi intercepted a sea-shipment and recovered two kilograms of heroin concealed in children's garments. The consignment was booked in Chiniot and destined for UK. In a yet another operation, the ANF Karachi with the cooperation of a courier service recovered 400 grams of heroin concealed in garments parcel.
The consignment was booked in Faisalabad and destined for UK. The ANF Peshawar intercepted a Suzuki pickup near Kohat and recovered 33 cans containing 1,110 kilograms of hydrochloric acid (HCL). Three persons were arrested.
