ANF foils drug smuggling bid, seizes 44.8 kg heroin

RAWALPINDI: The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has continued crackdown against the drug traffickers and recovered huge quantity of heroin at Karachi Sea Port, a spokesman for ANF said. On a tip off that some international drug traffickers will try to smuggle heroin abroad from Karachi Sea Port, the ANF checked a suspected container (ESPU-2009705) at (International Container Terminal) Sea Port Karachi and recovered 44.800 kg of heroin concealed in cartons of towels. The drug was being smuggled to Africa. The timely operation of ANF Sindh foiled the plan of the smugglers, the spokesman said. FIR have been registered against the culprits and effort are underway to arrest them. It is pertinent to mention here that in recent past ANF made record seizures of narcotics. End.
