A smile a day... By Sarwat

It is a common notion in our society that the events happening around us affect our lives, moods and emotions greatly. Thus, it is believed that a tension filled society will lead to our doom inevitably. While this might be correct to some extent, there remains a loophole in this narrative. In psychology, we call it 'facial feedback hypothesis', which explores the effect of facial expressions on our moods. To explain in layman terms, keep a smile on your face for 10 seconds and you will feel refreshed and happy.
On the other hand, frowning will only make you feel bad. So, if you want to feel upbeat and keep your body healthy, only a little 'facial effort' needs to be made! The events happening around us might not be in our power at times but our moods, emotions and thus our future sure are. Do take full-fledged advantage of this knowledge and keep smiling to be happy!
