A sad affair... By Anum

29 January, 2014

I am a teacher in one of the most reputable universities of Karachi. The university charges high fees from the students, but the quality of teaching and students is deplorable. I was personally told by the dean of my university not to overwork and keep a low profile.

According to him, these children are not students, they are our clients and should be treated as such. Give them customer service through kindness and good grades, whether they deserve them or not.

However, I must admit that the students are intelligent and remarkably confident. Unnecessary concessions and flow of easy money have taken them off the right channel or path. On the other hand, teachers have also stopped contributing professionally.

Reader Comments:

immoral and unethical

The Dean of some Karachi University is extremely unworthy of his assignment and his illegal, immoral advice to teachers not to work hard in teaching their students, makes him worthless person who earns/lives a bad, unacceptable cruel corrupt unethical ways of life.
