A new chapter... By Hassan

13 December, 2013

It is the end of an era, one marked with its own set of triumphs and controversies. The reign of Iftikhar Chaudhry, the most prolific Chief Justice (CJ) we have ever had, has come to an end. He stood up against a dictator and has been the subject of much jubilation and criticism. He helped people regain faith in the judicial system once again but has now moved on, as was expected. The new interim CJ, Tasadduq Hussain Jillani, has been sworn in for a little over six months, and one waits to see how this new chapter in our frail justice system will turn out. We wish the new CJ the very best of luck.
