KARACHI: Nine people, including two policemen, were killed in separate incidents of violence in the city on Thursday.

Bullet-riddled bodies of the two policemen were found at Wilayat Shah shrine, Sohrab Goth. Three commuters were also killed in Sabzi Mandi within the limits of PIB Colony Police Station.

According to police, the victims – Javaid Pathan, Ashfaq and Nizamuddin – were in a vehicle when unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on them. The three received bullet injuries and were rushed to hospital but doctors pronounced them dead. A woman, namely Zulaikha, was shot dead by unidentified people in Sector 14/C Baldia Town.

Separately, the bullet-riddled body of a man was found from Block-H, North Naizmabad. The strangled body of a woman was also found from Rund Goth in the precincts of Quaidabad Police Station. Police said that unidentified people had kidnapped the victim and threw her body in Rund Goth after killing her.
