8 militants surrendered in Kurram agency

KURRAM AGENCY: At least eight militant of banned Tehreek-e –Taliban Pakistan have surrendered to the political administration in Kurram agency.

Political agent, Shahaab Ali Shah told media, the security forces took control of major portion of the area while the operation is under way to take control of remaining 5 to 8 percent of the area.

He alleged foreign elements are backing the militants by providing full support, including weapons.

He said that the local tribal people are being returned to the area, which was retrieved from the Taliban's possession. He added that Tall Parachniar road has been opened for traffic.

Meanwhile, the government departments, including health centers and schools have been opened in the area while mobile communication service has resumed in the area.
