8 militants killed in Orakzai shelling

ORAKZAI AGENCY: At least eight militants were killed and several others wounded when jet fighters shelled their hideouts in upper Orakzai Agency. Sources said that fighter planes pounded the hideouts of militants in Ghanjo Lando and Kamar areas. Eight militants were killed and three hideouts destroyed during the shelling in these areas, official sources claimed. Panic and fear has gripped the area due to bombardment and shelling. Local sources said that the death toll may rise further, as many militants were reported to be buried under the rubble of the destroyed hideouts, and condition of many of the injured was also serious. Security forces have accelerated action against extremists in different areas of the troubled agency in recent days. End.
