8 die in rain, snowfall related mishaps

HARIPUR: At least eight persons died and several wounded in rain and snowfall related incidents in different parts of Punjab including Malakand and Hazara Divisions, Geo News reported Tuesday.

Six persons including three children and two women of the same family were washed away in flooding rain-water drain near Talokar area in Haripur, while one body of a child retrieved and one person was salvaged alive. Search for others was underway.

One person died and three wounded as wall of a hotel caved in at Pindi Bhatian area in Hafizabad.

Two teen brothers died and eight persons were injured in collapse of the roof of a house at Afghan Mohajir Camp in Swabi.

Three passerby died in an avalanche at Malikkhel Amnavi area of Shangla, while a vehicle skidded down a deep ravine near Bisham Lahore Nala resulting in the death of one person.
