KARACHI: Another seven people lost their lives in the ongoing spasm of violence across the city on Wednesday.

In the first incident, a brother-in-law of the notorious Lyari gangster Noor Mohammad alias Baba Ladla was found dead from Tenary Road, Lyari within the jurisdiction of Chakiwara police station.

Police said the deceased was identified as 32-year-old Gul Hassan, lived in Phool Patti Lane area of Lyari's Baghdadi locality. They said Hassan was murdered after allegedly been kidnapped by a gangster, Faisal Pathan, associated with the outlawed Peoples Amn Committee chief Uzair Baloch.

In another incident, a close aide of Baba Ladla, Basit alias Basit Mout was found dead from Baghdadi locality. Police in an initial investigation said the deceased was abducted by rival group and later they shot him to death.

Separately, an elderly man belonging to Shia community was killed in a firing incident in Malir locality within the limits of Khokhrapar police station.

Police said the deceased was identified as Ansar Hussain, 60. They said the victim was going to collect his pension when unidentified armed rider intercepted and fired at him, thus resulting his instant death. Police said the motive behind the incident was yet to be ascertained.

Separately, a hotel owner was gunned down near Old Maripur Truck Stand within the limits of Kalri police station.

Police said unidentified armed riders opened fire at a hotel which resulting, a owner of hotel Makiullah, 45, son of Aminullah, and one of his employees, namely Javed sustained bullets wounds and was rushed to CHK, where Makiullah succumbed to his injuries during medical treatment while another was admitted for treatment. Police said the deceased was running his hotel, named Makiullah Hotel since many years. Lyari gangsters had demanded one million rupees as extortion and reportedly after refusal, they killed him. The case has been registered while further investigation was underway.

Similarly, an alleged member of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was shot dead in Hill area in Islamia Colony within the precincts of Pirabad police station.

Police said the deceased was identified as Hameedullah, 65, son of Ahmed Khan, resident of Sohrab Goth. The victim had arrived in the area for some work, when unidentified armed men targeted him. Resultantly, he died on the spot. Police suspected that he was killed apparently by his rivalry group members.

In another incident, a man was shot dead in Gulistan-e-Jauhar locality. Police said the victim, Murad Baloch, 32, son of Ghulam Murtaza, resident of Sacchal Goth, was going somewhere, when unidentified armed men riding on motorbikes targeted him. As a result, he sustained bullets wounds and died on the spot. Police said it seemed personal enmity behind the incident.

Meanwhile, a woman was found dead from inside her house situated in Nawab Colony area of Baldia Town.

Police said the victim was identified as Juma Gul, daughter of Muhammad Ullah. They said the deceased was tortured to death and killed apparently about five days ago. They said the initial investigation suggested that the deceased was murdered by her husband over unexplained reasons, as he was at large after the incident.
