4 more killed as violence spree continues

KARACHI: Four people, including a policeman, were killed in separate acts of violence here on Thursday. A policeman was gunned down in sector 8/A, Korangi within the precincts of Korangi Industrial Area police station. An official said that unidentified pillion riders shot dead 45-year-old Raza Khan, son of Yousuf Marwat and escaped. His body was brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for an autopsy. He informed that deceased received multiple bullets and culprits used 99 mm pistol in the incident. The official said that the man lived in Bilal colony and hailed from Lakhi Marwat. The victim was the father of two children. A man was shot dead at Bismillah stop, Korangi within the limits of Korangi police station. Police said that Farrukh, 19, son of Shahid, was shot and killed by armed riders. His body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities. Police suspected that Farrukh was killed over personal enmity. Further investigation was underway. A man was killed on Super Highway, Sohrab Goth within the jurisdiction of Sohrab Goth police station. Police said that unidentified armed riders opened indiscriminate fire on a 48-year-old man, Turkistan, son of Qutbuddin, resultantly he received multiple wounds and died instantly. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for a postmortem. He said the deceased was the father of five children and was residing in same area. Police suspected that personal enmity was behind the incident. Separately, unidentified culprits threw the body of a man and one injured from a running vehicle on Nashter Road within the precincts of Jamshed Quarter police station. Police said that on information, they rushed to the spot and shifted the body and injured to ASH for an autopsy and treatment, respectively. The dead was identified as 23-year-old Mehtab Ali, son of Akbar Ali, while injured as Adeel, 21, son of Zaheer. SHO Khushnood informed that unidentified culprits first kidnapped them and after torturing, brutally penetrated bullets in their bodies and threw them dead and alive. Adeel was treated in hospital while doctors termed his condition critical. Deceased was the resident of Apsara apartment and Adeel lived in Alkaram apartment. End.
