4 held for having Pak, Afghan military uniforms

11 February, 2013

PESHAWAR: The law enforcement personnel have recovered uniforms of the national armies of Pakistan and Afghanistan in Lower Dir, and arrested four suspects, sources said on Sunday.

The raid and arrests were made in Samar Bagh area of Lower Dir district, a stronghold of pro-Taliban cleric Maulana Sufi Muhammad, the official sources said while speaking on condition of anonymity. Among the four arrested suspects two are commanders, they went on to add.

"The recovery of uniforms makes you believe these militants may have been planning attacks in either our or Afghan army uniform," the sources said while explaining the possible use of the confiscated uniforms.

End.
