3,000 Sikh Yatrees reached Lahore

LAHORE: Over 3,000 Sikh Yatrees reached Lahore via special trains on Wednesday to celebrate the 549th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji from November 21-30.
According to details, the pilgrims were received by the officials of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) including Chairman Tahir Ehsan, Secretary Board Muhammad Tariq Wazir, Pardhan Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) Sardar Tara Singh and other Pakistani Sikh leaders at the Wagah Border railways station.
ETPB Chairman Tahir Ehsan said that the government has made foolproof security measures for the pilgrims who have arrived in Pakistan, adding that they will be provided with free food, medication and conveyance.

Sikh Party leader, Sardar Amarjeet Singh stated that they get a lot of respect in Pakistan and the opening of the Kirtarpur Border for Guri Nanak birth anniversary is a gift to the Sikh community by the governments on both sides.
More than 10,000 Sikh pilgrims are expected to visit Pakistan on the occasion. The main ceremony will be held on November 23rd at Nankana Sahib.
