27 militants killed in a military operation

PESHAWAR - At least 27 militants were killed in the ongoing military operation in different areas of both North and South Waziristan on Wednesday 22,April,2015.
According to the ISPR, the media wing of Pakistan Army, 22 militants were killed in the precise aerial strikes carried out by fighter jets in the area ahead of Datta Khel tehsil of North Waziristan.
Being part of the ongoing Zarb-e-Azb military operation, the latest aerial strikes pounded militants’ positions in Datta Khel. The ISPR said that in the precise strikes, militant hideouts were targeted and destroyed in the attack.
Meanwhile, in cordon and search operation conducted by security forces, at least 5 more terrorists were killed in the operation in South Waziristan Agency.
The ISPR said the operation was carried out in the Shakto area of South Waziristan. It added that fleeing terrorists also left behind four dead bodies.
Separately, seven security personnel were injured as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan militants attacked a security check posts in Push Ziarat in the Lahda area of South Waziristan.
A security official said the injured personnel were shifted to Razmak for treatment.
The official added militants used light and heavy weapons in the attack and fired about 45 rocket launchers.
TTP South Waziristan spokesperson Azam Tariq claimed responsibility for the attack. He said they captured two bunkers and damaged them, adding the fighting has been going on for the last few days and that they will continue attacks. Air strikes have been reported in Shawal area targeting militant hideouts.
According to another report, at least two security guards were injured on Wednesday when militants attacked security forces’ check post in North Waziristan.
According to details, unidentified terrorist attacked the check post of security forces in Ladha tehsil of North Waziristan. Reports said the militants attacked the check post with heavy ammunition and weapons. The security forces retaliated with a fierce fire power, forcing the attackers to flee. The security persons injured in this incident were shifted to hospital for medical treatment.
The Pakistan Army has been engaged in the military operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan since June 2014, after the failure of peace talks between the government and Taliban and the attack on the Karachi airport by the militants killing at least 30 people in last year.
As many as 10 militants had also been killed in the action.
The latest aerial strikes are part of the military’s ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan Agency which began in June last year.
Several safe havens of terrorists were destroyed during air raids.
Scores of terrorists have been killed in the restive tribal areas since the launch of the operation Zarb-e-Azb.
