2 killed in Peshawar mobile phone shop bombing

PESHAWAR: Two people were killed and 17 others wounded in a bomb blast in a mobile phone shop in interior Peshawar. Meanwhile, intelligence reports said that 12 suicide bombers have entered the city to target certain places, police and official sources said on Thursday. "Two wounded persons died of injuries in a hospital," police and hospital sources told our sources. According to the police account, the bomb targeted a mobile phone shop in Khushal Market in old Hashtnagri, damaging some vehicles. "It is not clear what was the motive behind the bombing," the police sources said, adding that an investigation has been launched. Meanwhile, police and other law enforcing agencies stepped up security checks in Peshawar after reports that 12 suicide bombers have entered the city. It is not clear what the targets of these bombers are. However, senior police officials believe they could hit Friday prayers and key government and civil and military installations. The intelligence reports warned the provincial government of strikes from terror outfits through suicide bombings, and have suggested stepped-up security to foil these strikes. End.
