17 inmates including 2 women released

HERAT: As many as 17 prisoners including two women were released from prison in Nimroz province yesterday following the latest decree of President Hamid Karzai, police said Friday.

The prisoners who jailed for committing different crimes and completed most of their jail term were released following the presidential order issued on the occasion of Eidul Adha, Haji Muhammad Musa Rasooli, police chief of Nimroz province, told Afghan Islamic Press (AIP).

He said the condition of Nimroz jail which hosts more than 1000 prisoners was very bad and the inmates were facing numerous problems due to shortage of space.
