17 injured in Hub bombing

QUETTA: At least 17 people, including two women, were wounded in a bomb blast on Monday night in Hub, an industrial town of Balochistan. According to Hub Police Deputy Superintendent Raza Muhammad, some workers of a cement factory were en route to Karachi in a bus when explosives planted on a motorbike parked along the highway exploded. As a result, 17 people sustained injuries, he said. "Explosives were detonated by a remote-controlled device," he added. Rescue workers and police rushed to the site after the incident and moved the injured to a nearby hospital. "Some seriously injured people were referred to Karachi for further treatment," doctors at the hospital said. Police and other law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area following the incident. The blast also damaged two buses while some passers-by were also among the injured. There was no immediate claim of responsibility. Police started investigation of the incident. End.
