169 dead, 855 injured in floods: NDMA

ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Friday revealed that during the recent floods, 169 people died and 855 were injured.
According to details released by the NDMA, 55 people died in Punjab, 24 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 35 in Sindh, 18 in Balochistan, 12 in FATA and 25 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
A total of 1,419,569 people were affected by the floods, of which 634,322 were in Punjab, 336 in KP, 720,641 in Sindh and 64,270 in Balochistan. Crops on 826,871 acres were affected in different parts of the country, and 25,573 houses were partially damaged, while 20,046 were destroyed.
The NDMA said that 323 relief camps had been established throughout the country, housing 30,540 people. Roads were also damaged in heavy rains and flood in Balochistan, Punjab, KP and AJK.
