136 nabbed in targeted raids

KARACHI: Law enforcing agencies apprehended at least 136 suspects, including target killers and extortionists during separate targeted raids and operation across the city here on Saturday.
As per details, paramilitary Rangers conducted targeted operation in Ittehad Town area of Baldia from where they managed to arrest sixteen criminals including four target killers and five extortionists.
The officials also recovered weapons from the suspects' possession. Separately, Rangers officials conducted a door-t-door search operation in Yousuf Place located in Federal B Area Block-16, and arrested at least eight suspects and recovered weapons from their custody.
According to sources, about 500 Rangers personnel participating in the operation, along with the women wing. The Rangers personnel also deployed snifter dogs in the search. The entire locality was cordoned, and nobody was allowed to go in or out during the procedure, however, women and children were not being stopped.
On the other hand, police in the last 24 hours claimed to have held about 112 suspects during 95 raids and operations across the city. The officials also claimed to have recovered huge caches of arms and ammunition from the possession of suspects.
