KABUL: At least 11 suicide bombers were captured by Afghan security forces in several parts of Afghanistan's northern Parwan province, local officials said.
The suicide bombers were captured in four Afghan security forces operations in Kohi Safi, Bagram, Jabul-Seraj, Sayed Khil areas and in Charakar, the capital of the province, with improvised explosive devices, provincial spokeswoman Roshna Khalid told Afghan media.
"The men wanted to detonate the explosives in several parts of the province to target the supporters gathering to mark the 11th anniversary of the death Ahmad Shah Massoud the national hero of Afghanistan," she said.
Khalid said there was no exact information about the nationality of the suicide bombers and police had started "investigating about them."
