11 killed in Bhakkar sectarian clashes

BHAKKAR: A clash between Ahle Sunnat Waljamaat and Shias killed 11 people on Friday.
According to initial reports, a clash between two rival groups in Kotla Jam area of Bhakkar district in Punjab resulted in a prolonged exchange of fire, which left at least six people dead and another six injured.
However, the death toll increased, as five people, who had been injured in the clashes, later succumbed to their injuries.
As per police official Abdullah Khan, people were killed on both sides.
The conflict erupted after a protest rally by ASWJ after one of their members was gunned down while closing his shop.
Sectarian violence is on an ever-increasing rise in Pakistan and radical Sunnis have been targeting Shias all over the country, especially in Gilgit, Parachinar, Quetta, Karachi and different parts of Punjab.
