11 SHOs to face the music

LAHORE: The police departmental have initiated an action against 11 SHOs over non-registrations of FIRs during the last month.

Police sources said SHOs against whom the action has been ordered were SHO Shahdara Inspector Rashid Amin Butt, SHO Race Couse Inspector Rana Amjad Ali, SHO Mustafabad Inspctor Naveed Akmal, SHO Sabzazar Inspector Ghulam Dastagir, SHO Township Inspector Rana Muhammad Akmal, SHO Shalimar SI Iftikhar Ahmad, SHO Sarwar Road SI Hussain Farooq, SHO Barki SI Safdar Sajjad, SHO Batapur SI Ijaza Rasool, SHO Nishtar Colony SI Ahmad Usman.

The SHOs were accused of using delaying tactics in FIRs registration and applying wrong sections of law which were subsequently got corrected on intervention of the CFBC. The action was taken by the Citizen Feed Back Cell (CFBC) on the feedback obtained from people who had lodged their complaints with 15 during the period.

The cell, contacted 1991 people who had lodged complaints with 15 during the preceding month. Of them, 1,707 informed that legal action had already been taken on their complaints while an action on 213 applications was found pending, the sources added.
