Use of 3G technology from 2013: Awan

Chairman PTA Farooq Awan has said that the use of 3G technology in Pakistan would begin in the middle of 2013 and an agreement in this regard would be signed in the second week of January.

Chairman PTA Farooq Awan has said that the use of 3G technology in Pakistan would begin in the middle of 2013 and an agreement in this regard would be signed in the second week of January.

Addressing a news briefing Islamabad he said that consultants have been hired for three months to ensure the transparent auction of the 3G technology. The consultants would be paid $ 547,000, he added.

The auctioning of the technology is expected to fetch $ 1.5 billion and it would generate 30,000-40,000 jobs.
