TPL Trakker launches 3D Map

KARACHI: The country`s first 3D Map rendering, guided by Global Positioning System, has been launched on Tuesday, which features the latest and most detailed maps of Pakistan with a vast coverage of more than 100 cities and highways all over the country.

With the launch of Trakker NAV (country`s premier GPS Navigation System), a new era for road navigation technology has started in the country as it is available for in-car devices, Portable Navigation Devices (PND) and downloadable application for iPhones and Android based phone services.

Talking about the product, TPL Holdings Chief Executive Officer Ali Jameel said that the launch of this navigation system has let Pakistan to stand among those developed countries that already have this latest technology. He said that Trakker NAV is available for iPhone and iPad at App Store and for Android devices at Android Market by the name of `Sygic-Pakistan` and has been one of the top selling apps in Pakistan.

He said that TPL Trakker has so far recovered over 10,000 stolen vehicles and cargo worth over Rs 15 billion, while it also helped in preventing several kidnappings and extortions and assisting victims of crime in emergency. “In Pakistan, we also have as partners law enforcement agencies, Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC), Madadgar 15, police, insurance companies, financial institutions, and GSM service providers,” he added.

He further said that Trakker is proud of averaging over 85 percent recovery in Pakistan, which is much better than the worldwide standards of recovery of stolen vehicles where similar leading state-of-the-art tracking systems are operational.

He said that the salient features of Trakker Nav include comprehensive map coverage of over 100 cities; 3D landmarks and house address search; over 800,000 points of interests; multiple routing options as per convenience, 24/7 navigational support, and availability in SD cards and downloadable applications for smart phones.
