Pakistan's central bank, State Bank of Pakistan earned Rs 260 billion profit in fiscal year 2012 which depicted an increase of 44 per cent over 2011.

According to the statistics released by the SBP rising gold prices helped it earn an additional profit of Rs 45 billion.

During fiscal year 2011 SBP had earned a profit of Rs 180 billion.
