State Bank Pakistan has established a special cell to provide information about bank defaulters to the Election Commission in secrecy.

Sources in the SBP told Our Sources that it has established a special cell with all the necessary fixtures for remaining in contact with the EC.
A director level official has been nominated the in-charge of the cell which would work 24 hours, sources said adding that the cell is being established on the request of the EC and on the direction of Governor State Bank.
SBP would also compile the new list of the bank defaulters on March 25 and the details of the bank defaulters would be provided to the EC through this special cell so as to maintain secrecy.
The sources further said that if the EC enforce the laws strictly it would lessen the volume of defaulted loans of the banks.
