PSM to turn around with support of Russia, says PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has said he expects that Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) would turn around after the expansion of the mill for which a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has already been signed with Russia.

The prime minister said this while talking to PSM Chief Operating Officer Maj Gen (R) Muhammad Javed at PM's House on Thursday.
The prime minister said establishment of PSM was the brainchild of late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. He further said the present government has made an agreement with Russia for expansion of PSM.
He added that with the expansion PSM will not only fulfil the domestic requirements and needs but will surely become a profit-earning institution.
Javed expressed his resolve for a timely completion of the expansion work. He assured that efforts are being carried out to convert PSM into an effective institution.
The CEO thanked the premier for his guiding role and providing support to revamp PSM. Javed assured the PM that the state-owned institution will certainly regain its past glory.
