PAC directs FBR to issue notices to all tax evaders

ISLAMABAD: The Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly on Wednesday directed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to issue notices to all tax evaders, including big media houses and sought a detailed report within a week.
ISLAMABAD: The Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly on Wednesday directed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to issue notices to all tax evaders, including big media houses and sought a detailed report within a week.
The committee was of the view that the people who avoid paying their taxes despite having massive assets and bank balance should be punished. FBR Chairman Ali Arshad Hakeem assured the PAC that notices will be issued to all the defaulters and a list containing their names will be presented within a week. The PAC had a heated debate over the leaking of documents of tax return of parliamentarians and their publication in the press.
