Nepra approves hike in electricity tariff

National Electric Power Regulation Authority (Nepra) has approved price hike of Rs 1.55 per unit in electricity tariff. Karachi Electric Supply Company would remain exempted from the price hike.

Hearing a petition filed by Central Power Purchasing Agency, Nepra approved the latest price hike. The latest price hike in electricity tariff would be adjusted in the month of January in term of fuel adjustment.

It was told during the hearing that furnace oil of Rs 63 billion were purchased in the month of January.

In the month of January per unit fuel charges remained Rs 10.55.
