NEPRA allows 85 paisa increase in power tariff

National Electric Power Regulatory Authority has allowed power producing and selling companies a 85 paisa per unit increase in power tariff.
NEPRA has approved the increase under the fuel adjustment head for the month of July which, however, would be effective from January 2013.
The increase would not be applicable to the consumers of Karachi Electric Supply Company.
According to NEPRA that it became evident that after the expenses under fuel management and revenue 85 paisa per unit increase in the power tariff had become imperative.
