ISE gains 36 points

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad stock market witnessed a firm trading session on Wednesday as the ISE 10-share index was up by 36.29 points to close at 2,924.88 points from its previous level of 2,888.5 points.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad stock market witnessed a firm trading session on Wednesday as the ISE 10-share index was up by 36.29 points to close at 2,924.88 points from its previous level of 2,888.5 points. Of the total 114 participant companies, 78 climbed upward and 36 turned negative.

Total turnover increased to 0.066 million shares from 0.066 million shares at the opening of the day, showing a difference of 0.029 million shares.Unilever Pakistan was the top gainer as its share value shot up by Rs 245 to close at Rs 8,000 after opening for Rs 7,755.Siemens Engineering was the second major gainer as its share value increased by Rs 36.12 to close at Rs 758.52 as against its opening at Rs 722.40.

Mitchell’s Fruit Farms was the major loser of the day as its share price declined by Rs 9.53 close at Rs 337.95 as compared to its previous level of Rs 347.48.Murree Brewery was the second highest on the negative column as its share price fell Rs 2.24 to close at Rs 124 as compared with its opening at Rs 126.24.

In terms of volume NIB Bank remained on top with 0.023 million shares. Maple Leaf Cement and Lotte Pakistan PTA remained second and third with 0.005 million shares and 0.003 million shares, respectively.
