Hefty Rs 18 increase in LPG price

LPG price has been increased for the third time with a one-go hefty increase of Rs 18 a kilo.

According to LPG Distributors Association the September prices for the LPG pushed to $ 946 a ton from $ 775 a ton in August. This in turn pushed the per ton LPG price in Pakistan by Rs 19,000, it added.

The price of residential cylinder is increased by as much as Rs 224 while the price of commercial cylinder has increased by as much as Rs 863.

After the latest increase the new LPG price in Sindh and Balochistan would be Rs 130 a kilo while in Azad Kashmir and Northern Areas it would increase to as much as Rs 145 a kilo.

The chairman of LPG Association Irfan Khokhar has appealed to the government to freeze the LPG price as per the old price because LPG is being produced 98 per cent locally and only 2 per cent of it is being imported.
