ISLAMABAD: The government has offered Shell Company to invest in liquefied natural gas (LPG) sector and explore new sites for drilling and oil exploration in the country.

“Shell is one of the most favoured brands in Pakistan and the leader in the lubricants sector since 2001, so it should play an important role in the oil exploration of the reserves of the country,” Minister of State for Finance and Board of Investment (BoI) Chairman Saleem H Mandviwala said while talking to a delegation of Shell led by Regional Downstream Director Mark Gainsborough in a meeting held here on Thursday.

The meeting was based on Shell's efforts and commitment to meet the energy needs of the country. The minister said that being the oldest oil company in Pakistan, with over Rs 43 billion investments, should also invest in the LPG sector, which could provide them with maximum profits in their business.
