ECC approves Gas Load Management Plan

The Economic Coordination Committee has approved the gas load management plan for the coming summer.
The Plan has expelled CNG among list of all priorities.
The meeting of the ECC chaired by Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Shaikh and it accorded the first priority to residential consumers of gas; second priority to power generation, thir dto industry and the fourth to the cement sector in the Plan.
Earlier CNG was put at the third slot which is now being put on the fifth slot while all the priorities to CNG sector have been abolished.
The ECC put the import of LNG on hold.
The ECC also approved the marginal gas field pricing formula under which the newwly discovered gas could be paid additional price.
The Ministry of Water & Power's request for providing more gas to the power sector was also approved by the ECC.
The ECC was also briefed about the overall economic condition of the country.
