Another 90,000 tons urea to arrive this week

KARACHI: Another 90,000 tons of urea is expected to arrive this week on top 100,000 tons that has already been imported, the Trading Corporation of Pakistan has said.
It said MV “Great Mary” from the United Arab Emirates carrying 25,000 tons urea will arrive by November 22nd (today). Two more vessels namely MV “Medi Lisbon” from Bahrain and MV “Dubai Ambassador” from Qatar, carrying 45,000 tons each, are expected to arrive within the next few days.
Earlier on Friday, MV “Hyderabad” carrying 50,000 tons of imported urea and MV “Pollux” carrying 25,000 tons imported arrived at Gwadar Port.
TCP said that nomination of vessels for shipment of the balance imported urea has also been made and added it is pursuing suppliers to ensure completion of the shipments by mid December to ensure availability of fertilisers in the domestic market at the time of its requirement.
These shipments are in response to TCP’s two tenders opened on Oct. 28 and Nov. 12 for 260,000 tons and 440,000 tons, respectively to various international suppliers. TCP has informed National Fertilizer Marketing about the arrival schedule of the vessels, to ensure prompt transportation and timely supply of the imported urea to the farmers.
