Managing Director of national flag carrier Pakistan International Airline Junaid Yusuf informed the Special Committee of the National Assembly that PIA is not only facing financial problems but also technical problems of the aircraft in its fleet.

He told the Committee that of the 38 operational aircraft 12 need repairs; five are facing unscheduled repair problem while the repairs of another five are as per the schedule.

The national flag carrier airline is operating 18-26 year old planes and is facing problems related to hydraulic system, air-conditioning system, fuel system as well as engine related problems.

MD PIA informed the Special Committee of the NA that PIA suffered a loss of Rs 410 million in its Hajj operations.
