Will Pakistan Survive ?

15 January, 2008

By Amjad Malik

Barrister Jinnah fought hard in persuading British Empire to allow Muslims of sub-continent to have a separate homeland to safeguard the identity of rich nation and their Islamic culture values and freedom in their way of life as there were distinctive differences between Muslims minority and Hindu majority of Indian subcontinent. However, at this critical juncture his soul would be perturbed to see first ‘klashenkove’ and now ‘suicidal attacks’ and weaker judiciary resulted in by periodical military regimes in Pakistan quite contrary to Islamic teachings which depicts that one may survive in cruelty but a society built on injustice can not coexist. West  followed that principle in practice especially in their way of dispensing justice and freeing media and Britain is noteworthy in that effect particularly as freedom of citizens was never compromised. That clearly pin points one aspect of the weakness of the country Pakistan that it could not develop a formidable civil system of governance in good 60 years which could continue despite having a road map and strong military as an institution always came to rescue due to political immaturity of our political clan or distrust amongst stake holders and that will always remain its minus and positive point. The bleak rule of law & justice situation and unlawful killings of its political stalwarts especially Bhuttoo’s and  nexus of military with judiciary may not mirror its founder’s true views and vision about this outstanding nation full of talent, skills, and vigour and poses a serious question, will Pakistan survive in days to come?

Admitting that situation is bleak as far as rule of law and democratic drive and media freedom is concerned, still its not enough to question its territorial existence as we will have to see the reason for which Pakistani people obtained this country. This country was obtained by way of one man one vote and most of the votes were cast by lay people who were focused as their aim to have independence and they freely opted out for a free state and refused to accept slavery in a country where they ruled for centuries. To me the original principal is still intact and survives. People of Pakistan though going through a series of crises especially finding political system under which governance takes shape but are still determined not to loose their freedom and they are not willing to rejoin their old foe so united India is out of question. Now we move to second stage and it is acceptable that hidden powers breed the idea of fragmentation of Pakistan. That may be a valid blackmailing tactics to suit an individual state interest, but rarely  possible in practice as the remaining Pakistan post 1971 is geographically located in a spot where its fragmentation will cause a serious threat to the stability of the whole region and in return to the wider world and any foreign interference may have serious repercussions as a result because no power would afford a backlash as a result of a failed attempt of fragmentation on an atomic power.  Therefore, its division in pieces no matter how glossy can not materialise due to country’s strong defence mechanism and Pakistan being the only Muslim state with atomic armament which provides regional stability through its ideal strategic location. Looking at the recent past, English fought Irish, Indian faced Sikhs separatists and other developing insurgencies, Srilankans at war with Tamils, Afghanistan saw off Russian invasion in 80’s and is on its 2nd haul of turmoil during and post Taliban and US went through bi polar system, Cuban missile crisis, Kennedy’s death, Vietnam, as well as 9/11 and Japan too saw Hiroshima but no where the issue of state instability crops up. Similarly, Pakistan is a state where a full mechanism of running and defending this nation of 160 million is in place and one aspect in particular to defending the sovereignty of the state is in fact, stronger than ever before.

On this basis, I will say that Pakistan is there to survive for years to come as Pakistan is a homeland, a shelter of different casts and creed, safety zone for Islamic heritage and protector of many languages. Its cosmopolitan diversity is its unique feature and its strength is its foundation on which it was made. As the foundation is so strong, the remaining issue is to build the country further on this stronger foundation and take it on  a route to progress, tolerance and truly democratic Pakistan which is quite up to the people of Pakistan who needs to come out of its shell and turn themselves from crowd to a nation. How can people achieve that task is a valid question for all the leaders of Pakistan too, military as well as Civilians. Its political leaders also carry the blame for not being able to promote genuine leadership, political process, and accountability on national level, and military leaders for not being able to leave a genuine democratic leadership from educated middle classes in succession once they had a chance in Ayub, Zia and now Musharraf’s regime. Pakistanis remained leaderless after years of military regimes and people could not come out of status quo and started from scratch after the regime left leaving his foot prints. I think institutional strength along with preserving judicial independence, free and responsible media are keys to join the road map towards democracy. Military establishment must foster and pave way for true leadership and try to confine themselves to the task of ‘defence of the realm’ and allow a political process to continue coupled with free judiciary & media, and allow the system to shuffle across and separate the chaff from grain after periodical elections ideally after every 4 years. After four or five elections Pakistan will have true leadership to run the political side of the country and military can go on the back drop forever. If we allow people to responsibly elect its leaders and allow the system to run, I do not see any reason why those millions whose ancestors laid their lives on one call of their Quaid Mr. Jinnah and chose Pakistan freely as their choice, will now make mistake to choose who should govern them. Given the choice collective wisdom will promote unity and federation and the people will find a viable political process too.

Pakistan is there to survive, West is sometimes pre mature in their hasty assessments to forecast a destabilised Pakistan on any mishap or genuine calamity, I would say they react quickly and its the beauty of their system and freedom of media that they are heard quickly too. Pakistan an atomic power who announced its nuclear in a tit for tat tests with its arch rival India in May 1998 though it acquired this technology in 80’s long before its official  announcement on 28 May 1998 so questioning its command to hold such arsenal seems baseless, keeping in view that the country acquired this technology not by choice but as a deterrent once its arch rival tested its nuclear facility and posed a clear and present danger to the defence, security and sovereignty of Pakistan and the whole South Asian Region. It is arguable that the money could have been well spent on people’s welfare but that applies to both the countries. However, critics in West and in Asia are justified in pointing out that more can be done to secure institutional strength and to attain truly elected genuine leadership with true democracy is the real challenge confronted to all Pakistanis and that’s what they must concentrate on in coming years as given the opportunity this land of pure is fertile enough to do miracles.

Will Pakistan Survive

OF COURSE PAKISTAN IS SURVIING AND WILL SURVIVE.I do like personally the article by the writer who has tried his best to give some information about the system, democracy, law and order in England but not to forget it took years to come this far. Going back in the history sitution in UK was bad where women had no right to vote and no right to share the wealth of the husband if divorced etc. With time all the improvements are made and to compare with Pakistan and imagining similar system in Pakistan is long way to go yet. Comparing the education with UK is a relevant point. In Pakistan there is no education system like UK and many million kids do not go to schools and have no idea of a vote or democracy. What suits to West might not suit to Pakistan with a deplorable history of politicians who robbed the country and lived in West. Huge sums of money has been stolen from the treasury and bought Mansions in UK and elsewhere and left the country on the brink of bankcruptcy.Who will trust them not a person who can read and write knowing their past. I will say that Pakistan is there to survive for years to come as Pakistan is a homeland, a shelter of different casts and creed, safety zone for Islamic heritage and protector of many languages. But some of the thekedars of Islam are defaming Islam and its teachings. The foundation of Pakistan is so strong, the remaining issue is to build the country further on this stronger foundation and take it on a route to progress, tolerance and truly democratic Pakistan which is quite up to the people of Pakistan only when the educational standards are raised from this lower bottom in the region to a very high level. Why the problems are there that got to be discovered by the next government. Law and order sitution do need to be taken care off. There are always challenges and Pakistanis do have incredible ability to meet them with courage as per past history. Media is not playing its role as a polite and pro Pakistan though they got to criticise when necessary because a healthy criticism is always justified and not to give bull shit information to readers. Media Blast is done by the TV Media which is wrong and they got to be working for Pakistan not for them who are paying for their upkeeps. I do have a positive attitude like you and so many others who do breath for Pakistan love their homeland they are all over the world and also in back home. Pakistan has come up a great country in the last 8 years and today known all over the world. Foreign investors are moving into Pakistan for good returns. A handfull of greedy and anti-Pakistanis are spoiling but that will be dealth with by the government. I hope all will settle down after the elections. There is always a green light in the tunnel.

Pakistan will survive and survive strong-inshallah

A VERY SWEET PERSON,WHEN I WAS IN PAKISTAN ABOUT THREE MONTHS AGO,TOLD ME THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE SAYING AS SUCH:

"MAY BE THIS LAND WILL BE THERE AND THEY WONT BE"

THESE WORDS HAUNTED MY MIND WHEN I WAS IN IRAN AND SOME OTHER ISLAMIC COUNTRIES OF MIDDLE EAST.NOW I READ ABOUT A WHOLE MALICIOUS AND VICIOUS CONCERTED PLOT BY HALF DOZEN INDIAN GROUPS ENTERED OUR OWN CYBER NET AND WRITING OPENLY ABOUT CREATING PAK GENOCIDE AND FINISHING OFF OF ALL PAKS.THESE INDIANS ARE OPENLY BRAGGING OF CUTTING PAKISTAN IN PARTS AND ARE DEFAMING OUR ONLY RESISTENCE,THAT IS PAK MILITARY,AND DECIMATING EACH AND EVERY LIFE.I AM ALMOST SURE THAT SUICIDAL BOMBS IN PAKISTAN WAS THE PAID WORK BY THOSE WHO WANT TO DESTROY PAKISTAN.

LET US GET TO THE GROUND REALITIES.EVEN THOUGH PAKISTAN HAS SEEN THESE SET BACKS AND TRAGEDIES,IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO RECOVER OURSELVES,AND BY THE GRACE OF ALLAH,WE WILL SURVIVE FAR BEYOND FOR EVER.THE DEPRESSED TALKS BY THAT SWEET ONE MADE ME THINK OF PAKISTAN MORE THAN I HAVE EVER THOUGHT.PAKISTAN NEEDS HELP THROUGH UNITY FOR ITS SURVIVAL,WHICH IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE REGION,FOR CHINA, FOR AMERICA, FOR GLOBAL STABILITY AND FOR THE ENERGY SECURITY OF THE WHOLE WORLD.STRATEGICALLY,OURS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT COUNTRY IN THE WORLD WITH LINK UPS TO INDIA,CHINA, MIDDLE EAST, CENTRAL ASIA AND IRAN.

CANADA IS NOT IN TROUBLE AND IT IS RATHER FRIEND OF PAKISTAN.IT IS THE MOST INDEPENDENT RESOURCE WISE AND IN ENERGY IN THE WHOLE WESTERN WORLD.ALL PAKISTANIS HERE MUST THINK OF PAKISTAN'S HOUR OF NEED.AMERICA IS NOT IN TROUBLE AND IS THE WEALTHIEST AND MIGHTIEST NATION IN THE WORLD.BUT AMERICA'S OWN SOLE SUPER POWER STATUS AND GRANDNESS IS VERY DEPENDENT ON ITS ENERGY SECURITY IN FUTURE.A STABLE,SUSTAINED AND SURVIVING PAKISTAN IS MUST FOR THE ENERGY SECURITY OF AMERICA.PAKISTAN'S STABILITY IS INTER WINED AND INTERLINKED WITH THE STABILITY AND ENERGY SECURITY ALL TIED TO THE ARAB WORLD AND IRAN.PAKISTAN'S LIFELINE OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS ARE EMBEDDED ON MISSILES,WHOSE RANGE IS CONFINED ONLY TO DEFEND ITSELF FROM A SOLE NATION THAT IS THREATENING TO GENOCIDE OUR NATION.PAKISTAN IS THE WORKING ALLY OF AMERICA AND CANADA AND THE WEST AND CHINA.AMERICA, CANADA,ISLAMIC WEORLD AND CHINA ARE ENCOURAGING VARIOUS POLITICAL PARTIES AND GROUPS AND EVEN OUR MILITARY CHIEF MR KIYANI TO WORK TOGETHER TO STABILIZE PAKISTAN.THEY MUST ENCOURAGE AND EVEN ASK 6 MILLION PAK EXPATS WORLD WIDE TO DO FINANCIAL LINKS AND HELP AND DO MORE FREQUENT VISITS AND SUPPORT AND CONTACT CHEER UP IN DIFFICULT TIMES OF THE COUNTRY.I AM SURE THAT 80 PERCENT OR MORE PAKS LIVING ABROAD ARE SINCERE AND SERIOUS TO THIS CAUSE.PAKISTAN IS BEING MADE VICTIM OF THE WASH BACK FROM SOVIET AFGHAN WAR AFTER EFFECTS THAT LED TO 9/11,AND THEN INDIA'S VICIOUS AND MALICIOUS MEDDLING IN PAKISTAN'S DESTABILIZING PROCESS WITH FINANCED BOMB BLASTS GOING ONE EVERY ONE OR TWO WEEKS,IS THREAT.THE WHOLE NATION,ITS POLICE AND MILITARY SHOULD START CHECKING EVERY ONE, EVEN THE INNOCENTS.

BUT,IT IS NOT TOO LATE YET AS WE HAVE SOME MANY POSITIVE THINGS HELPING US TO SURVIVE.THEY ARE AS SUCH:

1.PAKISTAN HAS A VERY UNITED AND DISCIPLINED AND STRONG MILITARY IN POSSESSION OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS AND DELIVERIES.

2.THE NEW BOSS OF PAK MILITARY, MR KIYANI IS ORDERING OUR MILITARY TO BE THE MEN OF OUR VERY LOVED BARRICKS ONLY.

3.MONEY AND POWER CORRUPT PEOPLE,BUT MR KIAYANI'S BARRICK LOVE APPROACH WILL PREVENT THE PRIVILEGED CORRUPTION OF THE BRASS. THE PRIVILEGED CORRUPTION DURING THE BRITS TIME LEFT WITHIN US THE FEUDAL SYSTEM WHICH STARTED TO GET MATCHED BY LATEST CLASS OF CIVILIAN AND MILITARY BRASS LUMPED ON TO THE FEUDAL SYSTEM,LEAVING THE COMMON MAN LESS PRIVILEGED.MR KIAYANI'S APPROACH WILL MITIGATE THOSE IRREGULARITIES.A COUNTRY WITH GOOD MILITARY AND GOOD POLICE IS VERY SAFE COUNTRY TO LIVE.

4.PAKISTAN HAS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT GEO-STRATEGY AND NEITHER AMERICA NOR CHINA WILL LEAVE PAKISTAN IN COLD.

5.PAKISTAN'S DIVERSIFIED ETHNICITY IS TOLERANT OF EACH OTHER AND GETS ALONG VERY WELL WITH EACH OTHER.THE PAK PEOPLE CERTAINLY DO NOT HATE EACH OTHER ON BASIS OF ETHNICITIES.SO, THEREFORE, THERE CANNOT BE REPLAY OF IRAQ AND OR AFGHANISTAN THERE.IT WOULD HAVE CREATED PUNJABI-PATHAN RIFT IF ANY ONE OTHER THAN PAK MILITARY WAS ALLOWED TO HANDLE THE DELICATE SITUATION OF WAZIRISTAN-NWFP.PAK TROOPS, MOSTLY OF PATHAN DOMINATED ORIGIN,ACT IN THE WESTERN PAKISTAN AND HAVE KEPT PAKISTAN VERY CLEAN AND DEVOID OF ETHNIC BLAMES OR COUNTER BLAME ISSUES.

6.PAKISTAN HAS SIGNED IPI AND WITH THAT PAKISTAN WILL HAVE 2 OR 3 TO 1 EDGE IN ENERGY CONSUMPTION PER CAPITA OVER ANY SOUTH ASIAN NATION.

7. BY TAKING SOME SACRIFICES INTERNALLY,PAKS HAVE KEPT PEACE ON THE BORDERS.

8. PAK ECONOMY HAS HEALTHY GROWTH RATE AND HAS REASONABLE FOREX RESERVES.

9. PAKS ARE PLEASANTLY LOVING PEOPLE WITH GREAT DISPLAY OF NATURE TO GO WITH IT.

10. PAKS ARE DEEPLY EMBEDED WITH ISLAMIC WORLD WITH SOME VERY RELIABLE FRIENDS THERE.

11. PAKS HAVE THE WILL AND THE STRENGTH TO SURVIVE.

Cow and "Two Nation Theory"

Indian Muslims constitute almost 20% of the total Indian population but they are hardly given 4% positions in Government, Armed Forces, educational institutions and even in industry. This is a clear indication of religious victimization. A senior Indian politician has recently given a statement that, "---in India we don’t care about if one is Hindu or Muslim, we are all Indians first". This is also a general attitude towards minorities, from the Hindu majority population, which is a complete hoax contrary to ground realities. I may remind them that, in India, Hindu majority still worship cow and can never agree to respect rights of Muslims, who relish eating beef, which is also an essential part of their food. Secondly, according to their own religious customs, Muslims need to slaughter cow for fulfilling their religious demands on Eid-ul- Azha.

I may also remind the Indians that, British had to agree with Quaid-e-Azam's arguments based upon the "Two Nation Theory", because they found it impossible to reconcile on the dividing line, where a group of Indian people worshiped, what the other group devoured.

I am sincerely of the view that, when the basis of division on "Two Nation Theory" is removed, India and Pakistan will unite again much faster than they were divided. It is a well established scientific phenomenon that, if some ingredients of a natural body are removed, it becomes highly agitated, remains under tensions and tends to return to its natural form. If unnatural and artificial restraints are removed, the body immediately moves to return to its natural original formation.

A nation born on Friday, the 27th Ramzan-ul-Mubarak i.e. on the blessed night, must have the strongest Divine protection!
Imagine the Mountbatten's frustration. In spite of his all efforts on instigation of Nehru, he could not change the happening even for a day, to avoid the blessed date. Could there be any better proof of the sanctity of the event, that is creation of Pakistan?

M, Pakistan - 16 January, 2008

reply to M.Saeed

You seem to have half baked knowledge from local Paki Madresah.
1. Indian Muslims constitute 4-5% in Govt sector, but almost 11% in private sector. and FYKI, private sector constitutes 65% of organised business sector in India.
2. Cow-slaughter is no doubt un-acceptable to Hindus, but tell me which Islamic books says Beef eating is compulsory.
3. Cow slaughter is not mandatory in Islam for Eid-ul-Azha... popularly known as Bakri-Eid in India-Pak. FYKI, Bakri means Goat.
4. Eating Pork is Haraam in Islam as eating Beef for Hindus (different reasons though) Tell me how many Islamic countries allow Pork and FYKI, Beef is easily available in India for people to want to eat it.
5. I don't think many in India are looking forward to re-unification of Indo-Pak. We have enough trouble with the almost 16% that we have.

Will Pakistan Islam (and I) survive ?

1857 India gadr came with Queen Victoria of Canada. Muslim became weakling with fall of Spain
And European Turkish Sultan Empire with inception of Saudi and oil sword rattling sheiks when Islam
Either started recovery or impurity being introduced for oil theft .Democracy of Canada or EU USA
Is theory and as useless as in India while Religious conflicts promote so called democracy which is
barely functioning .Pakistan split 1971.against violence against women in Spain since 1975 include verbal Rhetoric forced prostitution genital mutilation with new case law in common law free permissive society of EU America as opposite to Islamic "offences against purity" (delitos contra la honestidad).Divorce was reintroduced or established in Spain in 1981 (Act Number 30 of July 7). [6] after 1000 year Islamic rule in Spain. Pakistani visit recently to promote power of attorney for women is a joke as is legislated Islam and Flour Mill electricity Hadith for economy. Abortion before 1985 was not permitted there while Millions went for abortion in Japan and Hindu India if discovered with pregnant woman is carrying female child. Saudi Catholics recently punished a raped victim using women could only rape men (Bustos, 1991:115; Cabo, 1993:261) while Sword rattling as preislamic Arabia movement continues while Quad pro quid for Transportion human oil plane oil freight seminar across Canada pile up.My being their direct victim is a menace .Will Pakistan or Islam or Book of religion survive with current leaders’ hypocrisy (everywhere) is good question.Who killed BB ZA Bhutto or others seem obvious with Motive!

Z B Mohammed, United Arab Emirates - 16 January, 2008

In India , muslims eat beef everywhere and it is not only allowed by Indian Law but agreed upon by the people of India ( majority Hindus- 80 % ). First check what rights minorities ( Hindus, Sikhs, Jews, Buddhists, and Christians ) enjoy in your theocratic state ( by Law ) and in most of the backward muslim countries ( particularly those that proclaim that Sharia is the way forward but can never implement that in full. Mend your own house in order first because there are enough problems in your ' great' divided homeland that even though built on the cementing factor of Islam did not even last for 30 years.

With respect to Story of Mr.Saeed on Indian Muslims.
First of all I would like to correct, that Indian Muslims represent more than 10%
in Govt., Private sectors and in Politics, tho they constitute 10% of the
population. Indian Muslims enjoy more privilage than in any part of the world. In 1947 the Muslims who opposed two nation theory are part of Indian Society, and they have Co-existed for the past (60 years) and will exist in
the future. Our last president was Dr.A.P.J.Kalam. I need not explain what his initials are. We viewed him more as itelectual from a tiny South Indian Island, rather than a Muslim. It is true that in India there is no difference
between Hindus and Muslims, but First We are Indians. Muslims have relegious
freedom in India, and there is no problem to practice Islam. There is a wrong perception in Pakistan about the status of Indian Muslims. Indian Muslims have more freedom and safe in India, than in any other part of the World.

We are one Muslim or not

The problem with our nation The Pakistan is precise, we think we are one people as long as we are Muslims. Hindus and Sikhs are also God's people. If we had considered them as people we wouldn't have this problem today.
Thanks for publishing this article.

Re: PAKISTAN

Allama Iqbal's vision will remain a reality,no matter how hard forces within and out try their best to destroy
this creation.Had the Cabinet
Mission Plan been accepted it
would have presented a very different picture. But Ghandhi
could not visualize two Muslim nations that would have come up.The Hindu swamis
whose hate for Islam has never accepted Pakistan.Made
a successful attempt and they
succeeded in 1946 preventing
the Sikhs to accept Wavell's
Plan. Then in 1947 they put the Sikhs and Muslims against
each other.From the advent of
Agartala to the creation of Bangla Desh. These wretched have not rested to breakup this nation.

Pakistan, Laylatul-Qadr creation

Inadvertently, I had sent the draft, without name and title. Following is the corrected post.

A nation born on Friday, the 27th Ramzan-ul-Mubarak, which was a rare Friday Laylatul-Qadr i.e., a blessed "Night of Power", must have a Divine protection!

The Night of Power is a term translated from the surat Al-Qadr, verse one which states:
We have indeed revealed this (Message) in the Night of Power:

Imagine Mountbatten's frustration. In spite of his all efforts on instigation from Nehru, he failed to change the Decided date of Event even for a day, so as to avoid creation of Pakistan on a unique Friday Laylatul-Qadr. Could there be any better proof of the sanctity of creation of Pakistan and its survival?

M.Saeed, Pakistan - 18 January, 2008

Yes....It will Survive

It makes me to remember the day when first nuclear test was conducted by Pakistan and I can't see any person who was not happy. No matter which part of PAKISTAN they live or what political party they belong, they were dying to express their joy and happiness. Probably after 1965 war that was the other event that knit them in a true Muslim nation.

And after reading this article by Mr. Malik, I can say that we need that spirit again. I'm totaly agree with the writer and his opinion about the survival of Pakistan. This is not the first time this question has been raised but this time the situation is worst ever but being a nation we have to choose the right path and must understand our responsibilities towards our homeland but the question is how it will happen and the answer is one of the line from the article of Mr. Amjad Malik who says as following:

'I do not see any reason why those millions whose ancestors laid their lives on one call of their Quaid Mr. Jinnah and chose Pakistan freely as their choice, will now make mistake to choose who should govern them. Given the choice collective wisdom will promote unity and federation and the people will find a viable political process too.'

Whom can we blame?

Is it not very sad that:
.. we are today talking about if Pakistan will survive or not? Do they talk like that in any other given country?
..nobody in our country is willing, has the guts OR THE SHAME to take any responsibilty to corret the conditions? No politicans, no teachers, no students. It seems to me that everybody is kind of drunk.
..we have a leader who does not understand anything he is doing. It took years to devolop and create the Talibans, how can they be gone or fought in JUST months? How is it posible to elminate an enimy that is imposible to identify? Is not hikmat better than raw power? Allah, would we really have won any war if our army was led by any sooo stupid general like this man?
.. we have put our fate in a 19 year old kid? A nation of 160 million could not produce anybody better? Shall we wait another 20 years til he gets mature? What will we do while waiting for this genius?
.. there are never any good news from our beloved country? Nothing about Pejja opening this or that car factory, univercity or power plant? How can he? When 18 hours out of 24 he is worried about the chair?
.. we are a nation of show-offers? People love to have lateste mobile, no matter how,but they never have money in them? At least how many jobs would not have been created if all these mobiles were made in our own country?
..the electronic media is so stupid "palying role of free press that it harm the contryt han they do good to it? Is also the american media this free, or they know what is wrong or wright to show?
Of course it is sxtremly sad, but at the end of the day, i think we deserve. Whem we do not care, then we more than deserve it. Healthy and rich countries do not just grow by themselvs, they are made by responsible people and leaders.

The instable Pakistan

The instability of Paskistsn lies in the religious extremism arising out of lack of education at mass level. The conyroversy that military rule has spoilt the broth does not hold good in view of the fact that the democratically elected leaders miserably failed to live upto the peopole's expectation. A comparison of UK's democratic values with those in Pakistan or anywhere in the world is surely out of context for the Britishers started their political process from 1215 when Magna Carta was drawn while feudal and despotic rule continued in Indian subcontinent till the colonial conquest> the governance that exists is appropriate for people who has enough to learn and prove themselves worthy of a democratic set-up.

US Elections 2008: Whom Muslims should vote ?

US Elections 2008: Whom Muslim voters should vote for?
By Wasi Siddiqui
(Member of the Canadian Authors Association)

The US elections process is currently underway and top candidate for the White House job are Hillary Clinton, and off course the underdog Barrack Obama and many more candidates are also taking part in the elections.

The Muslims community should also lay out a plan, to whom they will vote and why? The first thing that Muslims can do, is to demand the independent inquiry into 9/11 tragedy and expressing their concern towards the problems they are facing after the 9/11 and this is the greatest opportunity for them to highlight their problems and concerns.

The Muslims should only vote for a candidate who promise them an inquiry of 9/11 events and should reject the claims of Al-Qaeda attack theory. It is time for them to get united behind their common concerns and should bring the matter in the public life. Muslims votes are vital for the world safety and security, and they must take this matter with great responsibility.

The candidate on the other hand are not letting the opportunity go away by using Pakistani matters into the elections campaign , even Obama said “ that he will send the US troops into Pakistan if he becomes the next President ”. No matter if this is just an election slogan or a serious threat, the Muslims must not vote for such individuals. It is to be noticed that Mr. Obama has already denied that he is a Muslim.

Even though , their has been discussion about the Pakistan’s Nuclear weapons being falling into wrong hands , and this wrong hands are no other than a reference to Islamic or religions parties in Pakistan , or so-called Al-Qaeda , one thing is clear that after Iran the next in line is indeed Pakistan. The recent statement of CIA which blamed Al-Qaeda for the assassination of Bhutto has made things looks even more dangerous since this means that more trouble for Pakistan has been planned.

The confession of a 15-years old boy that he was the member of the Al Qaeda squad to kill Bhutto is seems to be a desperate answer to the mystery surrounding the killing of Bhutto, if a boy was ready to confessed the killing or being a part of the team, then why the Investigators team was called from Scotland? What was the need to call them on the first place? Is there any body left to blame? Are they going to blame on the bullet which Bhutto? Or they are going to say straight forward that “Asif Ali Zardari” ordered the killing? What a shame blame game being played in the name of investigation.

The Muslims voters must vote for such a candidate who show support for Muslims which could lead to a greater harmony and peace in the world and not chaotic situations that we have been witness in this long trouble years since 9/11 events. The media and Physical war against Muslims and Islam has now reached to a danger zone and every single Muslims feeling insecure.

The invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan is indeed a great concern for every Muslim, and this new threats to Pakistan is a very serious issue and Muslims voters should take this responsibility very seriously and should avoid their vote go into wrong hands. Off course, when we say the Pakistan nuclear weapons falling into wrong hand then why not avoid a wrong candidate being sent to the White House.

May Allah keep Pakistan always safe and sound.
