A member of the Indian Parliament, Rahul Gandhi, who also happens to be the son of ruling Congress Party of India President, Sonia Gandhi, boasted during an election rally in the Indian city of Bareli, that the dismemberment of Pakistan had been a triumphant accomplishment of the Gandhi family. Tasneem Aslam, the spokesperson for Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responded by saying, that Rahul Gandhi's claim proves, without any doubt, that India has always been meddling in Pakistan's internal affairs. She also said that the Pakistan of today is not the same, as the one in '71, and Indian leaders must remember that Pakistan's defenses are infinitely stronger now.

Thanks to Rahul Gandhi for reminding the newer generations of Pakistani youth about who their real, historical, and permanent enemy is, otherwise intentional efforts through confidence building measures to bury their burning, smoldering past would never have let them know who had been hacking away at their country's foundations. Our very own Minister of Education, who thinks there are forty Paras (sections) of the Qur'an, instead of thirty, is also attempting to cover up, or entirely remove from the curriculum, any references to the Hindu Brahman's sinister role in the dismemberment of Pakistan and his continuous scheming and subversive activities against this country.

When looked at through a different perspective, with Rahul Gandhi's admission in view, one can clearly discern the reality of such slogans as; 'we are one', 'we are all children of the same mother', and 'walls of hatred must be brought down', etc., etc., by various Hindu leaders who come to Pakistan wearing fake cloaks of peace. Rahul Gandhi made his declaration with the utmost pride, which clearly shows that regardless of all the songs of peace that Indian leaders parrot, their vote-bank is basically dependent upon their level of enmity with Pakistan. They have, in fact, inherited this enmity from their previous generations. We are amazed as to why our government expects any good from a people who hold such narrow minded and antagonistic views towards Pakistan. If Islamabad thinks it can resolve the Kashmir issue with India through negotiations, or at least keep India from displaying an attitude of open hostility towards Pakistan, then it should re-read Emma Nicholson's report about the Kashmir issue, which is soon to be presented for approval to the European Union parliament. The report is completely biased in favor of India, and highly critical of Pakistan.

Pakistani authorities had signed the joint 'Islamabad Declaration' with India in 2004 in the hope that the international community might put pressure on India to resolve the Kashmir issue. Yet India, throughout this period, worked behind the scenes to portray Pakistan as the biggest supporter of terrorism, with the subsequent result that Pakistan which was supposed to be the staunchest advocate for resolving the Kashmir issue, is now itself under fire. Pakistan, in fact, even stopped mentioning Kashmir at international forums to please India, in the hope that this might facilitate negotiations with it, but India, on the other hand, while keeping up a façade of continuing negotiations with Pakistan, does not let any opportunity go by to blame Pakistan for cross-border infiltration. So much so, that the very next day after Rahul Gandhi's incriminatory admission, India's Defense Minister, A. K. Anthony again blamed Pakistan for supporting Kashmiri freedom fighters. If the Pakistani government, under these circumstances, is blamed for a failed Kashmir policy and a failed foreign policy in general, it instantly become enraged and begins blaming its critics of extremism. In fact, it has now become standard practice that the US, the EU, India, and Afghanistan, blame Pakistan for supporting terrorism and extremism, and the Pakistani government, instead of countering these allegations, conveniently transfers the blame onto the people, admitting, in fact, that the allegations are true.

The spokesperson for Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has claimed that this is not the Pakistan of '71, and that it now has a very strong defense. The first part of her statement is entirely correct that it is not the same Pakistan as that of 1971, as at that time, East Pakistan was still a part of Pakistan, Pakistan had a larger land mass at that time, and a larger population too. But, we disagree with the second part of her statement, on the basis of valid arguments, that Pakistan's defense is stronger than in those times. National unity is the prime element for a state's defense, and military hardware, although vital, plays a secondary role in this regard. External threats to a state cannot be countered with military equipment alone. Pakistan, nowadays, is going through its worst phase of internal unrest, chaos, sectarianism, as well as, language, tribal, and land ownership based feuds. There is active turmoil in two of the four provinces. Our own forces are in a state of war within Pakistan's borders. Political opportunists, who thrive during internal strife, have begun criticizing the country's armed forces openly, and even the freedom of the press and media is being exploited to malign them. In fact, it would not be wrong to say that the current propaganda campaign is quite similar to the one used by India to incite Bengalis against the Pakistani Army back in 1971. How can a country's defense be strong if there is a state of mutual distrust between a country's armed forces and its populace?

Pakistan's dismemberment took place in '71 because the common ideological bond that had been the basis of Pakistan's foundation and independence, and the common unifying factor of the whole nation, had been casually neglected and abandoned. It was that common ideological bond that was the single most important factor which had bound East and West Pakistan as a single entity otherwise Bangladesh would never have been a part of Pakistan. If all the various ethnic peoples with all their different languages and traditions are beads of a common string, which is Pakistan, it is because of that same common ideological factor that keeps them bonded together, otherwise, why would Balochistan want to stick with Punjab and Sindh, or why would the Pathans want to live alongside Sindhis and Balochis? Pakistan was founded on the basis of La'ila'ha'il'lal'lah (There is no deity except Allah), and the strength of our defense is directly linked to the strength of our commitment to this common declaration of faith. When our commitment to this common declaration became weak in '71, the demons of ethnicity and nationalism quickly raised their ugly heads, whereas, in a different example, the commitment of the Kashmiris remained strong throughout this period, and that is why India has been unable to subjugate them, or to break their psychological and ideological bond with Pakistan.

It is therefore imperative that our rulers should work to strengthen the ideological bonds of the nation instead of boasting about Pakistan's defense capabilities. They should not only strengthen the nations bond with our common declaration of faith, but their own commitment to it as well. They must stop state sponsorship and support of licentiousness and immorality, because Rahul Gandhi's mother once said that 'there is no need to fight Pakistan militarily anymore as we have already conquered them through our cultural invasion'. Therefore, instead of promoting Indian culture with state finances, the world, instead, should be made aware of this inhuman and barbaric culture and religion. The world should be told that even in these modern times, a Brahmin and a Shuder cannot eat at the same table.

Rahul Gandhi has boasted that his party had been instrumental in the dismemberment of Pakistan, but he should know that there are people, in fact, many, many people, who are waiting to avenge the Dacca debacle; and that too, with interest. Hindus should not forget that during the past one thousand years, they have been able to rule India for only the last sixty years; as apart from the hundred and fifty odd years of British rule, it was Muslims who have always ruled India. In fact, it was Muslims who had unified India into one large state, and it was Muslims who divided it in 1947. If one ponders upon the details of the event that Indians are currently boasting about, one finds that they have not really succeeded in that either. India had wanted Bangladesh to become a client state like Sikkim, or Bhutan, but the valiant Bengalis who had given innumerable sacrifices for the independence of Pakistan, refused to bow down in front of the Gandhi family, or any other Indian ruler for that matter, and now Bangladesh, just like Pakistan, is blamed by India for cross-border infiltration.

Bangladeshis too, should take note of Rahul Gandhi's claim, so that they can better appreciate and understand India's colonialist and imperialistic intentions. The three million Biharis Pakistanis stranded in Bangladesh should be given their due status as members of Bangladeshi society, and the wall of enmity which had been raised by India between Muslims should be brought down, and we should again become one as in the past, united on the basis of a common ideology. Pakistan and Bangladesh should form a confederation and chart an agreement for a common defense. Pakistan must act like the elder brother in this regard and extend all its cooperation for Bangladesh's defense. Pakistan needs an innovative and aggressive defense and foreign policy under a rapidly evolving global scenario.

The author comes across as an Islamic fundamentalist. His boast that Muslims ruled India for a 1000 years and united it is nothing but fake Islamic pride. It will be better if he looks at the atrocities Pakistan was committing in Bangla Desh which caused India to liberate Bangla Desh. Mindless and unsubstantiated bravado by the writer just makes the situation worse between India and Pakistan.

The truth that you understood so late.

It is so pathetic to know that the Pakistanis have understood the truth only now. It was never a two state concept but slow three state concept. The muslim state was broken into two countries. So called Pakistan and Bangladesh are infact just two useless unproductive wastelands. Had it been part of India, much of the revenue would have been spent on the malaises of these countries. If something cannot be destroyed from outside, it needs to be killed from inside. First we split Bangladesh and we will split Pakistan further and make it more incompetent. It would not take hours for the Indian army to conquer Bangladesh. But we do not want that poor country for the time being. All ready it is a parasite/tick on our skin. Will the developed countries be more interested in pledging support to the fourth largest economy or to a dying economy like Pakistan? All your thought of getting Kashmir will only be in your dreams. First try to see that you don’t split further. It is always better to have what you have in your hand rather than trying to jump for something that is, was and never will be yours. Kashmir is India’s, will be India’s and always be India’s. All Pakistanis even if you take ten rebirths (which you obviously don’t believe in) will not be able to achieve.

United Pakistan !!

Author is suggesting about uniting Bangladesh and Pakistan, but what he's currently unaware is that there's already a consent and proposal between European and American political system to divide Pakistan further form its current state to five different states!!

Full Bangla Story

Rahul is just a child who does not know any of these-
1. It was Pak which tried to impose Urdu on unwilling Bengalis.
2. It was Pak which denied their elected govt. in Pak, which had won a majority.
3. It was Pak which attacked north Indian bases about 1500 kilometers away from Bengal to crush India basing on its perception that Indians may act in Bangladesh.
4. India was under US pressure not to act in Bangladesh and kept saying that it is Pak's internal matter. Pak army is supposed to have killed so many Bengalis and raped many Bengali ladies. There was an influx of refugees with which India could not have dealt for long or else all of Bangladesh would have come into India. India is still paying the price of changed demographics due to Bengali influx in form of troubles in Assam.
Pakistani air attack on Ambala, Pathankot, Chandigarh, etc on 3rd Dec. 71, which Pak was confident of winning due to American jets and tanks, made India decide at midnight of 3rd Dec, 1971 to finish off the matter by retaliating the attack. Needless to say that American jets and tanks did almost nothing for Pak and India finished the war in 14 days.
I can see that that all the blunders came from Pakistan, not from India.
Pakistani establishment, army, media and textbooks all misguide its people about facts about Bangladesh episode.

The dogs will bark, the snakes will bite

Just enjoy my poem, which has apeared on several international sights and goes as such:

The dogs will bark
The snakes will bite
Through endless time
Just watch them right

About half breed Rahul
This Anwar speaks
What he wants now
And what he seeks

Generations come
Generations go
But hateful at heart
Just hate, they know

My dear Paks
My heart’s delight
Just watch carefully
With guardful sight

And while you touch
A rose as such
It has the thorn
To cut you much

So, take the heed
Before you bleed
Tasneem Aslam lady
Has cautioned the need

United you get
And don’t forget
There can be danger
From one still stranger

The friend you trust
And more you must
The friend that’s true
Is within you

The friend will dare
And more he’ll care
For fellow Pak’s
None else, no where

So stay united
Get each one sighted
For need and help
You act delighted

That fool and king
Will bite and sting
But unity saves you
With flying wings

That Tasneem Aslam lady
She talks delish
She tells you right
About truth you wish

Wolf in sheep cloths

I don't give a penny to what Rajiv Gandhi's son think. However it sure brought out what the writer has in his mind. Talk about hypocrisy.
The only difference is; I am civilized enough not to take the openion of this one particular writer and apply it to the entire pak community and furthermore insult the religion of another race. I do have one request to the writer of this article. Do not bring religion into this, especially when u know nothing of the religion u speak of.

Ludicrous

This is absolutely Ludicrous. If Islam is represented by a Mullah in a extremist mosque then India is represented by Rahul. My friend, India is a democracy with freedome of speech, so people can say anyting they want on any political platform. In logical thinking, this does not mean he is representing India. People in Pakistan will look for anything to blame rather than blame themselves for their own doings. Grow up Pakistan! It is high time!

One look at abdullah muntazir's photograph published along with this article suggests his nativity somewhere around the lawless areas of Pakistans northwest frontier. So I am not surprised that he likes to take a distorted view of 1971. Bengalis are people who are fiercely nationalist and have their own pride. Who wounded that pride is well documented and it is this reason that Bangladesh was born. The Pakistani attack on Indian air bases in december 1971 only proved to be the catalyst. And if the author thinks India will revert to Muslim rule just becuase only they have ruled 'always' he is entitled to his opinion. If one has to be unbiased the Mughals who ruled India contributed a lot of 'culture' to Indian history than what people like Mr. Muntazir can even dream of. He belongs to a new breed of Muslims!!!!

Article of a fanatic

It is clear that the writer is a relgious fanatic who wants to torpedo the ongoing peace between india and pakistan by raising up Rahul gandhis comment. Rahul gandhi is only a " Baby" in Indian politics who's words doesnt reflects the opinion of indian public or Government.the writer failed to note the fact that all most all political parties in India condemned Rahuls statement. The writers Jihadi comments only promotes the hatred between two countries. He is not aware of the history of bangladesh liberation war in which Mujibur rehman was denied prime minister ship even after winning the election and subsequent genocide of almost 2 million bangladeshi's by then pakistan army.

Time to come on front foot to play Indian Spin on Kashmir

Excellent article. Our defensive approach and strong urge to solve Kashmir Conflict diplomatically has been intrepreted in a different way in New-Delhi. They have only decoded it as Pakistan's lack of intrest in Kashmir, and she was to submit to pressure and drop its claim of plebiscite in Kashmir under United Nations supervision if we continously blame them for insurgency. However, they do realize the root cause of Kashmir's insurgency, but, somehow they rediculously use that insurgency as a pretext not to solve the Kashmir Conflict. Have you noticed Indian Politicians trying to align themselves with American so called 'war on terror' to demonize Pakistan's role in it? Don't you guys find it funny when Indian politicians try to find their chair along with American and other world leaders on an international platform? Its very true that India media just cann't stay away from demonizing Pakistan and their politicians just drag Pakistan's ISI involvment in every single separatist bombings, or any other domestic issuses, just to increase their vote-bank. It has been maximized to the extent that it has become a joke on world forum, and therefore, world has stopped caring about why India cries so much about Kashmiri insurgency when it has half a million force to police it.

Mahmood Butt, Pakistan - 05 May, 2007

The religious angle!

I appreciate Mr. Muntazir's religious convictions, however, there are some blatant and major facts that he has carefully neglected to mention, in general the present condition of country and specifically with regards to the 1971 dismemberment of Pakistan . Indian confession or not...Here is the reality of things! Throughout the existence of Pakistan, the Western half had always dominated the Eastern part, to the extent that racial prejudice played a major role in it ,as well. I don't know where Mr. Muntazir was during this period, but had he lived in East Pakistan he would have witnessed this first hand. So much for the practise of Islamic values. The eastern half of the country was used for it's economic output and left to manage by itself. Educationally, economically and otherwise....the rest of Pakistan not only deprived, but totally neglected East Pakistan. If Mr. Muntazir has any doubts about the then loyalty and desire of the Muslims of East Bengal, he should remember that the visionary and practical concept of Pakistan was given birth and legitimacy in East Bengal, at a Muslim League Convention hosted by the Nawab Family of Dacca. In short, the situation got so bad that the West forced the down-trodden Bengalis to look out for themselves, resulting in two major historical events...Bangla Desh and the proverbial "handing of the collective Pakistani butts on a silver platter"! Unfortunately it seems that the conditions haven't changed much in "Pakistan", despite willfully ridding itself of the Eastern half. The practise of a fundamentalist type of Islam, now being forcibly imposed on the population, mirrors fundamentalists anywhere. Suddenly the rest of the world has been transformed into "enemies of Islam/Muslims & Pakistan". Muslims, Hindus, Jews, Christians, Bhuddist, Born Agains, etc., etc....they are all alike! Basically, all of them believe "we know better and our's is the ONLY RIGHT WAY" and look where it has taken everybody...war, terrorism, distrust, potential nuclear annihilation of the human race. Meanwhile, over 93% of Pakistanis continue to be seriously under-educated or not at all. Housing is scarce, jobs and welfare is negligible. Sectarian and cultural clashes are dessimating the societal fibre of the country. Terror has gripped cities and even the once powerful military establishment is not immune to these attacks. Guess what Mr. Muntazir....India has been waiting (patiently) in the wings since 1947/48...., waiting for Pakistanis to cause their own demise. At this rate this will happen, soon. So Mr. Muntazir pack up your religious wares, your religious angles....the likes of the Wahabis/Talibans/JUI have done enough damage to the image of Islam/Muslims.... instead, look more towards the general welfare of the country, examine how you can be of service to the people of Pakistan. Educate them, house them. Don't try to impose on others, what YOU think should be the practise of your faith. Lastly, Mr.Muntazir stop blaming others for your problems, whatever those problems maybe and do some serious soul searching. Maybe you'll learn to recognize your human self and be able to correct things. Good Luck (ooppps... is that un-Islamic)!

Indian never change

Dilip's sounds like a usual Indian stereo type. He used the bearded picture of author to lable him as fundamentalist.
It proves Indian brain will never change no matter where ever they migrate and they will never accept even in the presence of un-deniable evidences.
In short Rahul's admittence is a proof that India always conspired against Pakistan and had attempted its destruction by hook or crook.
The Indira gandhi had been blamed by former American president (Richard Nixon) for starting war of 1971.
I believe in every other comment he made about her and Indians.
Its about time world should know the face of Indians.
There world will always revolve around Pakistan.

Rahul Gandhi's remark was very stupid. BD got separated due to internal problem of Pakistan. India has to intervene due to large influx and humanitarian crisis prevailed in eastern Pakistan.
India has brunt the savagery of islamic barbarism for 1000 years. Thank god, British people has kicked these .... and brought back civilization in this area. Otherwise India would have become similar to Pakistan,Afganisthan, BD now.

1000 years !?

i cant understand where this 1000 yrs of muslim rule comes from? time and time again i keep seeing this fictional fact in many of both sense and nonsense articles, could someone try to verify,or is it that whole of pakistan has been already been brainwashed into this "fact", like how bravely pakis fought in the wars and won,and how cunningly india clinched kashmir from them, or how india is failing and how pak or the muslim leaders will save it etc.
if one takes the 4000 yrs history, it was around 400 odd yrs that muslims leaders ruled parts of india,,and apart from aurangazeb none were fanatics, and religion was spread mostly thru sufis, had they been bad they wouldnt have ruled that long, indians dont mind anyones ruling them as long as they are good, these modern day fanatics who twist history and try to jeopardise peace around the globe should all be put in a seperate island in the pacefics with genetically engineered mosquitoes that can spread both AIDS and POLIO, along with malaria, lets see how do they survive that in the name of god.

Bangladesh

The writer has seems to outburst by the comments made by Rahul Gandhi. Similar comments to this article seems hurt the sentiments of Pakistanis. If today is there is conventional war between India and Pakistan, defeat of Pakistan is likely to happen as comments made by Tasneem Aslam that what Pakistan was in 1971, its more stronger today. India fought the 1971 war with outdated fighter aircrafts like Gnat, MIG-21, Canberra, Hunters of 1965 era, where as Pakistan had the latest superior sophisticated fighter aircrafts supplied by United States, but yet it lost the war. Today India is more stronger than the 1971 war.
Secondly the war started between the Mukti Bahini and the Pakistan army of west for imposing ban on the Bengali culture which was similar to Hinduism, which led to rise against the West Pakistan. West Pakistan blamed India for supporting the Mukti Bahini, and declared war on India. Pakistan thought that they might win the war as they expected United States during Nixon's Presidency and China to join in defeating India. In fact United States came with the seventh fleet, but stopped by the Soviets submarines who came to India's rescue. China though a friend of Pakistan will not meddle or intervene in a war between two countries until there it has an interest. Therefore China stayed away knowing that if even Pakistan won the war against India, what is China's gain? Nothing. Why to loose its own men in a war between India and Pakistan. Chinese are intelligent than Pakistan's. They have built up their economy and their only interest is Taiwan, which it claims its territory and nothing else, let other's fight. China recently accused Pakistan for training terrorists against Chinese muslim's towards its eastern border with Pakistan.
